About Chef Ria

Rumah Kitchen was founded by Ria Ibrahim of south Sulawesi, Indonesia. Ria grew up cooking with her Mom and Grandmother. Ria learned all about farm-to-table cooking while helping out with her family’s catering business and farm. She is excited to bring international knowledge and flavors to the Northeastern United States.

After graduating from high school, Ria decided to attend university in the city of Makassar, Indonesia, and work as a journalist for a food magazine. During that time she met a lot of chefs and broadened her understanding and passion for cooking, which led her to attend culinary school.

Ria now lives in upstate New York, where she is pursuing her dream of running her own company. Rumah Kitchen reflects exactly what cooking means for her - Home.
